One of my favorite interior designers is Joan Behnke.
There is not a whole lot you can find on Joan's background other than she credits her passion for design beginning at age 5 when she'd spend her time designing homes for her Barbies. Since then, her love for interiors has turned into a rewarding career working with celebrity and fortune 500 clientele.
Joan's style epitomizes luxurious, timeless, old world interiors - where no detail is left untouched. I love her approach when it comes to mixing prints, textures, fabrics, wallpapers and art. I am constantly scouring the internet and magazines with hopes of finding one of her more recent projects. Her work is so inspiring to me and carries such a wide vocabulary of design ideas that I am frequently referencing her website.
I can't quite figure out why her work is still relatively unknown, however I kind of like the fact that she's been my little secret... I guess until now :)
